Some Maryland utilities add rebates of $3,000 to $6,000 per unit on top. Program details change; your proposal locks the exact figures for your address and filing year.

Maryland systems often beat the loan from month one
Take a typical $32,000 install. The federal credit returns $9,600 and the grant takes $3,000 more, so the financed amount lands under $20,000 before the sales-tax exemption is counted.
Then the RECs start arriving: quarterly checks worth $1,000 to $4,000 a year, on top of a utility bill cut of up to 70%. For many Montgomery and Howard county homes, savings plus REC income exceed the loan payment immediately.
